Hiatus

Hello!! LO!! LO!! LO!!
Is anybody there? ER? ER? ER?
(*echos)

Sorry for me absence for the past week and a half, I have been commissioned working for hugs & kisses making my Little Man & his buddy Super Mario Bros. stuffies for the past week and a half.
I have to start off by saying that I really have minimal sewing skills (so please be gentle) but these projects were very much on the easy side if you have any experience paper piecing (and I know that most of you do).

My little guy found a post on Youtube showing a tutorial on how to make you very own Goomba (which is the little mushroom looking dude that Super Mario jumps on his head in the game).
I had some felt, embroidery floss & cotton balls laying around so I got to work.
See my '1st Try' Goomba. I knew I could do better, so as soon as I finished him, I set to work on Goomba #2.

**I sew on all the features by hand after I cut them and pin them with matching thread. I sew the darts & outer body with my trusty little Singer.

Within a week, I had graduated to fleece (it holds up much better) and am currently up to number 4 of Goomba 3.1. Eeek!
After the Goombas, I checked around and found some other simple shapes that would be easier for a novice such as myself and made a few 'power up flowers' from the game as well.

As you can see, my mushrooms (that make your little Mario bigger/smaller/extra life) are waaaaaay off. I was happier with my 'Boos', Goombas & power up flowers.
I finished my last Goomba yesterday and am on a little break for now (maybe I will get some scrapping done ;) )

Little Man is at me to get ready and take him out to lunch.
Hopefully, I can get a scrappy post up very soon.
Thank you for visiting!
